What are credits? Are they shared between inbound and outbound?
Credits are Apotrail's call usage unit. Inbound AI reception costs 0.7 cr/min, and outbound AI calls cost 1.0 cr/min. Credits are shared between inbound and outbound, so you can allocate them however you like. After a transfer to staff, inbound calls drop to just 0.15 cr/min. Ringing, no-answer, and voicemail cost 0 cr.
What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?
When your balance drops below 5 cr, new outbound calls are automatically blocked. Calls in progress won't be cut off. For inbound, calls continue as long as you have remaining credits and are blocked only when credits reach 0. You can monitor usage in real-time on your dashboard and purchase additional credit packs at any time.
Is there a risk of AI hallucination (saying incorrect information)?
While no AI system is 100% free from generating inaccurate information, Apotrail mitigates this risk in several ways: (1) You can configure prompts to instruct the AI to say "I'm not sure, let me transfer you" instead of guessing. (2) All calls are recorded and transcribed so you can review AI responses after the fact. (3) For inbound calls, promising leads are transferred to a human in real-time, ensuring critical decisions are handled by your team.
Can callers tell they're talking to AI?
We use a cutting-edge voice AI engine that produces natural, human-like conversation. It handles pauses, confirmations, and clarifications smoothly. In most cases, callers can't distinguish it from a human. That said, we can't guarantee it's undetectable 100% of the time. For outbound calls, you can configure the AI to disclose that it's an AI when asked.
How do concurrent lines work?
Each plan has a maximum number of simultaneous calls (Lite: 1, Standard: 3, Premium: 10). Lines are shared between inbound and outbound. For example, on the Standard plan, if 1 inbound call is active, you have 2 lines remaining for outbound. If all lines are busy, incoming calls receive an automated "lines are busy" message and are offered a callback.
How many phone numbers do I get?
One phone number is assigned when your paid plan is activated. A single number supports your plan's full concurrent line capacity (e.g., Standard handles 3 simultaneous calls on one number). Contact us if you need additional numbers.
Are there restrictions on when outbound calls can be made?
Yes. Outbound calls are restricted to 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM (local time) to comply with telemarketing regulations. Calls outside this window are automatically blocked by the system.
Is consent required for call recording?
For inbound calls, an automated notice plays at the start: "This call may be recorded for quality assurance." For outbound B2B calls, prior consent is generally not legally required, but you can add a recording disclosure to the script if desired. Recording retention periods vary by plan (Lite: 30 days, Standard: 90 days, Premium: 1 year).

How long does setup take?

Are call records saved?
Yes. Every call is recorded, and AI automatically generates transcriptions and summaries. You can browse call history on your dashboard and play back or download individual recordings.
Where do call result notifications go?
Notifications can be sent to LINE, Slack, Chatwork, Microsoft Teams, email, or SMS. Set up your preferred channel from the dashboard with one click, and receive an automatic summary after every call.
Can I use this for B2C cold calls to personal numbers?
Apotrail is designed for B2B (business-to-business) outbound calling. Calls to personal numbers are subject to telemarketing regulations and are the customer's responsibility to ensure compliance. If number suspension occurs due to regulatory violations, additional fees may apply. Please review our terms of service for details.
Can I cancel anytime? Are there refunds?
Yes, there is no minimum contract period. You can cancel on a monthly basis at any time. Service remains active until the end of the billing month. Unused credits are not refundable on a prorated basis. Purchased credit packs are also non-refundable.
Do credits expire?
Monthly plan credits reset each billing cycle (unused credits do not roll over). Additional credit packs purchased separately do carry over as long as your plan is active.
How secure is my data?
All call data, recordings, and transcriptions are stored encrypted. Database access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS), ensuring organizations can only access their own data. All communications are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
